Catalyst. Convener. Champion.

At The Chamber of Medford & Jackson County, living locally is more than just a lifestyle choice—it’s a mantra. The Chamber’s mission is, "Helping Business Succeed," and its purpose is to both inspire and develop growth in the economy of Medford and Jackson County. The Chamber seeks to be the catalyst for business growth, a convener of community and business leaders, and champion of the region it calls home.

Promote.

  • Encourage visitors to stay in Medford by promoting Medford as the Heart of the Rogue
  • Provide maximum exposure for Chamber member businesses on The Chamber’s website.
  • Strengthen the local economy by promoting the Rogue Valley as a meeting, convention and event destination.
  • Maintain a Visitor Center to accommodate thousands of visitors that spend money locally each year.
  • Continue to attract visitors by advertising southern Oregon in regional and national publications.
  • Spotlight outstanding local businesses by honoring them for growth and community service.
  • Educate and train business people to be better participants in our community through The Chamber's Leadership program.

Create.

  • Work with governmental agency partners to develop processes of cooperation between agencies and the business community to foster a positive and responsible climate for economic development.
  • Support education initiatives.
  • Support family wage jobs and firms.
  • Focus on tourism to increase revenue to businesses in our communities.
  • Facilitate community input on issues such as transportation, technology, health care, education, legislation, etc. and strategizing ways to meet the needs of the community.
  • Work on government policies that promote, rather than inhibit, job-creating investments in technology.
  • Glean public support and reducing the red tape and regulations that can delay vital projects.
  • Improve access to insurance for those who don’t have it, without jeopardizing the coverage of those who do.
  • Actively seek out new business & assess local sales trends​

  • Better access to resources and support to help you towards your professional goals
  • Conversations with potential business partners, suppliers, and employees
  • A great time unwinding with like-minded professionals 
  • Ambassadors​ who represent The Chamber and your business at various events, including ribbon cuttings and open houses.  Let them help tell your customers you are open for business!

Represent.

  • Employ a full time lobbyist to track 4,000-6,000 bills that take place over the course of a legislative session
  • Create  a 30 member Legislative Action Team to provide advocacy work on the ground level. Made of Chamber members, for Chamber members.
  • Maintain a member created ChamberPAC (Political Action Committee) to be more effective in advocating for pro-business candidates and issues critical to your business success.
  • Represent Southern Oregon business issues with legislators at Chamber Day at the Capitol
  • Conduct a monthly video conference with the Southern Oregon legislative delegation, at Legislative Hotline, where your business can leverage the relationships built and maintained by The Chamber to gain access to your state legislative delegation
