Things to See and Do

Butte Creek Mill
The Eagle Point mill is the last original, operating, water-powered gristmill in the West and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Crater Lake
Visit one of America’s crown jewels, Crater Lake National Park. No place else on earth combines a deep pure lake, so blue in color; sheer surrounding cliffs, almost two thousand feet high; a picturesque island; and a violent volcanic past.  The park is open May through October, depending on snow conditions.

Cross-country Skiing
Diamond Lake, Lake of the Woods, Crater Lake, Fish Lake and Hyatt Lake offer excellent winter recreation.

Diamond Lake Resort
The resort includes a lodge and campground. It is located 85 miles northeast of Medford. Open year-round, the resort offers summer fishing; boat rentals and charters; and mountain biking and rentals.

Harry and David

Historic Jacksonville
Located five miles west of Medford, this gold rush town of the 1850s is full of antiques, restored homes, shops and museums. Visitors may explore the 1890 Belle Gold Mine.

Lake of the Woods

Mt. Ashland Ski Area
Located 34 miles south of Medford, just of I-5 at Exit 6, Mt. Ashland welcomes guests with a warm and friendly atmosphere, 23 trails, four chairlifts and 300 inches of snow annually.  Mt. Oregon Shakespeare Festival
Located in Ashland, the festival offers performances February through October. Plays range from classical to contemporary in three theaters.

Oregon Wine and Farm Tour

The Rogue River
The Rogue River flows 215 miles from inside Crater Lake National Park to the Pacific Ocean. The river offers visitors and residents boating, fishing  (famous salmon and steelhead runs along with a variety of native and hatchery trout), rafting and hiking opportunities.
