Business Conference Focuses on Southern Oregon -
2018
The Southern Oregon Business Conference celebrates its fifth
anniversary on Thursday, January 31, 2008.
This year's event returns to a morning and
luncheon format at the Red Lion Hotel venue, host to earlier
events.
The theme this year will be "Southern Oregon:
2018", focusing on many exciting developments either in
process or in the planning stages. The totality of these ambitious
projects will arguably transform our region in many significant
ways - retail, commercial, residential, and public sector as well
as private, investment. From the revitalization of downtown,
driven by Lithia's investment in The Commons downtown development,
to enjoying the comfort and ease of air travel thanks to the new
Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport, southern Oregon is
poised for unprecedented opportunity. Public expenditure dollars,
combined with private investment, will literally change the
landscape in ways never seen before. Our 2008 Conference gets
underway with a presentation from John Manley, managing director
at Citi Smith Barney. Manley, an equity strategist, is chairman of
the Equity Strategy Committee, as well as a member of the
Investment Policy Committee. With more than 20 years in the
investment industry, he is a frequent guest analyst for CNN, CNBC,
PBS and Wall Street Week. After lunch, we will hear from Joe
Cortwright, recognized as one of Oregon's leading economic
analysts and Vice President of Impresa, Inc., will speak to many
of the same favorable conditions and environment in which the
Rogue
Valley finds itself. An entertaining national speaker, attendees
will learn more of how well positioned southern Oregon is when
compared to comparable communities in similar stages of
development. This presentation should provide corroboration to the
visions shared with attendees at this business conference. Register
