History & Description
Leadership
Medford/Jackson County is a program that was developed
by The Chamber in 1983 in response to a community
need--namely, the need for leadership in all areas of
public service.
Leadership
Medford/Jackson County creates in its class participants
a comprehensive and objective awareness of our community
in action. The program fosters commitment to our region
and develops leaders to meet the demands of the future.
Since its inception in 1983, more than 500 people have
graduated from this distinguished and popular program.
The
program is comprised of eight educational sessions,
which begin in September and conclude in May.
Participants meet one day each month for a full
day’s curriculum centered around a main topic area and
delivered via seminars, tours, lectures and briefings.
Topics include: Government, Cultural Overview,
Education, Communications, Social Environment,
Leadership, Tourism and Business & Industry.
A key program requirement is the completion of a
large-scale community project, selected by the class
participants and involving the talents of each
individual to bring the project to fruition.
