Action Teams

Action teams are made up of volunteer experts that meet periodically to advise The Chamber on its best course of action for a particular topic.  Any Chamber member is eligible to apply for membership to an action team, pending approval of the Board of Directors.

Ambassadors
Volunteers who represent The Chamber at many community events and welcome dignitaries.  Monthly meetings, plus participation at various events.

Annual Dinner Ad Hoc Committee
Helps plan The Chamber's Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet in September each year.  Meets once or twice throughout the summer months.

Awards
Recognizes and rewards outstanding achievements of Chamber members at The Chamber's Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet in September.  Meets three to five times from June - August.

Chamber Latino Network
Serves to further cultural awareness among the general Chamber membership and the community at large.  Meets monthly.

Education
Unites business interests with educational goals.  Helps facilitate the Future First Citizen Scholarship program.  Meets as needed throughout the year.

Forum
Made up of Past Chairs of The Chamber.  Helps facilitate the Forum: Your Business Link program.  Meets once or twice a year.

Greeters
A weekly networking venue where members can promote their businesses to 80-100 Chamber members.

Land Use
Advocates land use policies favorable to business and the community.  Meets as needed throughout the year.

Legislative Action
Works to reduce regulatory burden on business & entrepreneurs at the local, state and federal level, as well as advance business arguments on key issues relating to: Land Use, Health Insurance, Taxation, Education & Workers' Compensation.  Meets as needed.

Marketing
Advises staff on publications and communication surrounding community and business events, trends and news.  Meets as needed.

Medical Options
Explores the business community's needs in relation to quality and affordable health care.  Meets as needed throughout the year.

Red, White & Boom!
Helps plan the annual Red, White & Boom! 4th of July celebration.  Meets several times a year in preparation for the event.

Transportation
Works to help maintain an efficient system of road, rail, public and air transportation for the Rogue Valley.  Meets monthly.

Advises and supports the Visitors & Convention Bureau by promoting conventions and tourism.  Meets monthly.

Work Drug Free Medford
This business-to-business initiative provides drug free workplace education, training, mentoring and a business toolkit with local resources and success stories. As part of the Workdrugfree Oregon initiative with 14 pilot sites, it helps business owners overcome such obstacles as lack of time, money, expertise and the fear of losing key employees. Over 40 local businesses have instituted drug free workplace programs, which result in improved productivity and reduced turnover, absenteeism, workers comp, health care costs and reduced costs of job accidents and injuries.
