Representing Business Issues through
Lobbying & Political Action
The
Chamber works year-round to ensure local elected officials and other decision makers are
educated on the impact their actions have on the local economy.
Thanks to
those involved for their hard work on Chamber Day at the Capitol. For the first timers, they really appreciated
seeing the way the system works up there.
--Greg Roberts, ClearChannel Radio
Listed below are some of the ways we focus on representing business
issues:
Establish
a Political Action Committee to be more effective in advocating for businesses and issues
critical to business success.
- Represent
southern Oregon business issues with legislators at the State Capitol in Salem during Chamber Day at the Capitol.
- At Legislative
Hotline, your business can leverage the relationships built and maintained by The Chamber
to gain access to your state legislative delegation and ensure the protection of your
bottom line.
- The Chamber
stands ready to work before agencies, city, county, state and federal governments, as well
as the courts, to ease and manage the burden of environmental and workplace impacts on
business.
- Building on
successful programs that have changed the debate on workers compensation,
transportation, regulation, land use and education, The Chamber will continue to focus on
those issues and build on efforts to impact technology, health insurance and tax reform.
- The
Chamber rallies thousands of area business people, other chambers and associations and
countless businesses and entrepreneurs in a powerful force that gives us the grassroots
strength to win for business at City Hall and in the states capitol.
